Movement Re-Education
"We Help Women To Increase Their Confidence In Achieving Their Goals Of Having An Independent & Mobile Lifestyle Without The Use Of Pain Medications Or Surgery."

A Message From Cynthia Weiss, Owner & Founder of Wellness Rehabilitation Inc.
Fluidity and ease of movement is a result of using your muscles in an efficient and appropriate way. When you don’t move correctly, this pulls you out of alignment causing injury. The body wants to stay upright, be symmetrical, and be in harmony. Therefore, it will do whatever it needs to do to maintain homeostasis. This is why the core, using your muscles appropriately, and alignment are so important.
Let’s say you can do an exercise to one side but not as well to the other, you have created a muscle imbalance. The body will then go to the side of least resistance, meaning you will continue to strengthen the strong side, which will continue to weaken the opposite side of the body. If turning to the left is much harder than the right, you are probably not efficiently recruiting the correct muscles and the movement becomes stilted because you are asking other muscles to do what they are not meant to do. As this continues, you are setting yourself up for injury. Repeat this over and again, you create weaknesses until the body says “enough”.
How do you figure out where the weakness lies? If you are aware of your body and how it feels as you move in space, you may be able to figure out what is not working well. Even if you are aware of your body, it can be difficult to know if you are holding yourself appropriately because you move the same way each time and that becomes natural to you even though it may be inaccurate. This is where having trained eyes is beneficial. We can pick up the detrimental movements and then get you to change your patterns by asking you to move in ways that your body will remember without you overcorrecting. The new movement patterns will then become natural to you, preventing further injury or recurrence of injury.
Getting back to ”how do you undo some of your habits that are creating your issues”? Seeing an expert movement specialist. This is what our Physical Therapists are trained in. You need a separate pair of eyes to see where the root cause of the injury is coming from and how your movements are being affected by the injury or causing the injury. This is what movement reeducation is all about and what we specialize in at Wellness Rehabilitation Inc.
We see people with:
- back pain
- neck pain
- knee pain
- hip pain
- ankle/foot pain
- shoulder pain
- from dancing injuries, repetitive injuries as a musician, and from daily living.

At Wellness Rehabilitation Inc. we’ve created a 3 step process to get rid of your pain AND make sure it doesn’t come back again.
Step #1 - We Want to Listen to Your Story
Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the doctors for 10 minutes before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”
Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.
This is why our first step is to listen to your story.
After working with lots of people with pain and stiffness, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain.
That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on not just with your body, but also how it’s impacting your life.
Step #2 - Find Out WHY Your Pain Started
Many people have a diagnosis, or medical term for what’s going on with their body. Maybe their doctor gave it to them, maybe tests showed the diagnosis, or maybe you found it online.
You could have been told that your only choice was to rest, use ice and heat, or take pain medicine.
Sometimes, those things bring temporarily relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.
Every person’s cause of pain and stiffness is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person.
Our goal at Wellness Rehabilitation Inc. is to find that original cause of your pain, so not only does your pain go away, it STAYS AWAY!
We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if physical therapy is right for you. That’s why we created a free Discovery Calls. (Yes! That means it is ON US!)
Our Discovery Calls are meant specifically for those people who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the Discovery calls you’ll find out what may be wrong and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!
Step #3 - Get Rid Of The Pain & Keep It From Coming Back
This is when the big transformations occur. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…
…Get back to exercising without fear of pain and stiffness coming back
…Return to your fully functional and mobile lifestyle
…Have the confidence the pain will not return or that you know how to treat it
Our best clients are those who are motivated and ready to win back their active lifestyle. (Even if they feel stuck right now!)
