Who We Help:

Looking for Physical Therapy in Kensington, MD?
We Help Women 45+ In The Kensington Area To Increase Their Confidence In Achieving Their Goals Of An Independent & Mobile Lifestyle Without The Use Of Pain Medications Or Surgery.
Have you found our site because you’re looking to work with a physical therapist in Kensington? Have you been recommended to try physical therapy?
If yes, then you’ve come to the right place!
When pain and problems like back pain, hip pain, and knee pain happen, it’s tempting to think “it’ll go away if I just rest” or even pretend like it never happened…
Unfortunately, oftentimes the problem festers, slowly getting worse, impacting your lifestyle and disrupting your happiness.
Things like pain medications, injections, or other services like chiropractic, massage, or acupuncture may provide temporary relief…but then the symptoms return and you feel even more helpless.
Physical therapy, when done properly, not only gets rid of your pain, but also finds the root cause of the pain so your pain STAYS AWAY and so you can get back to your normal lifestyle.
We know you’re skeptical. Likely you’ve been to other healthcare practitioners in the past and nothing they’ve done has helped you or your problems.
We Understand
If that sounds like you, you’re not alone. Most of our clients at Wellness Rehabilitation Inc. Kensington, MD have often:
- Tried treatment elsewhere, sometimes even at other PT clinics, and had poor experiences and results.
- Thought the pain would go away on it’s own if they just rested, only to find that it doesn’t.
- Been told by a friend or family member that their pain or problem is just “a normal part of getting older” and to accept it.
- Have been to the doctor and been told that their only options are “painkillers, surgery, or injections”.
- Have been given exercises on a piece of paper to do only to find they don’t change anything (and sometimes make the problem worse).
- Have had surgery, injections, or used painkillers only to have minimal or even no success.

What Other People Just Like You Are Saying About Wellness Rehab in Kensington...
Gregory G. is back to running his longer distances painfree!
“I had a right knee joint problems for roughly two months after running a half marathon. This kept me from running a successful long distance run without feeling pain. I tried waiting for the pain to go away but the pain persisted, which got annoying.
After going through her rehabilitation program the pain went away and made me feel a lot better. Now I’m able to run longer distance without the annoying pain.
Danielle S. Had helpful exercises for her osteoporosis and is now walking up/down the stairs pain free!
“I have osteoporosis and wanted a safe exercise routine. So many people say they know what exercises are good for the disease but they really don’t. Cynthia has not only helped me learn what exercises to do, but she is even helping me with walking up and down the stairs and opening doors correctly, which isn’t as simple as it sounds. I also came in with a stiff neck and for the first time in years, I am pain-free. We are now working on my goal of playing tennis again, and I think I might make it. I highly recommend Cynthia to help you with whatever physical challenges you have.”
Kate H. felt improvement in her posture and back and wrist pain due to carrying a full master’s program load and work in just a couple of days!
“I first met Cynthia years ago through a workshop through my local dance studio. The workshop was a blast; I appreciated how accessible Cynthia was as a teacher. Knowing that Cynthia has both extensive anatomical expertise and a background in dance, I knew that when my back and wrists started hurting this past semester – a full master’s program load and working at the office did a number for sure – there was no one better to address my pain concerns. As I remembered, Cynthia was gracious and kind at our appointments, ensuring total understanding of each move she taught me in our lessons. With steady repetition, I felt an improvement in my posture and wrists within just a couple of days. Cynthia has a knack for breaking down the rationale for each move and this helps immensely in understanding why each move is prescribed. I had to cut our sessions short this time, but I can say that Cynthia will always be first on my list for when I need a physical therapist!“
Carmen C. Overcame hip pain and is now back to the activities she loves!
“Around early March of 2017, my orthopedic surgeon told me I needed left hip replacement. For several reasons, I could not have the surgery until early October. I knew the summer would be a long, painful one. Seeking some pain relief, I started seeing Cynthia Weiss after another doctor suggested physical therapy. To be honest, I did not see how physical therapy would help since my left cartilage was practically gone, but I decided to give Cynthia a try. After my first visit, I walked out of her office practically without limping. In subsequent visits, she not only taught me various exercises to strengthen muscles that support my hips but she also helped me improve my posture, how to sit down; how to get up from a chair and many other every-day practices to alleviate my discomfort. I also learned how all of these exercises and practices impact my hips. Thanks to Cynthia, I could enjoy my summer with the added benefit of having a stronger hip going into surgery.”
Lois P. Highly recommends Wellness Rehab to anyone who needs treatment!
“Cynthia Weiss has been my physical therapist since 1993. I have a chronic, intermittent pain syndrome in my feet and since then have been diagnosed with osteopenia and scoliosis. Cynthia has helped me through my flare-ups to stay mobile and work through the pain to keep my body functional. She gives me hands-on manipulation of my joints and soft tissue. She uses release techniques to treat my symptoms. We also use therapeutic Pilates on mat and equipment. For all the years I have known Cynthia, she has been a skilled professional. She takes continuing education courses and gets certified in new techniques. She is always looking for ways to enhance her knowledge of the latest techniques in her profession. Cynthia’s greatest asset is her compassion and empathy in addition to her level of professionalism. She is flexible with scheduling and always has the ability to change a program or technique to suit a patient’s symptoms. I have no reluctance when I recommend her to anyone I know who needs treatment. I can only give her my highest praise! “
Kim M. Ended her knee injuries and is now feeling stronger than ever before!
“Cynthia has treated me for knee injuries I sustained due to osteoarthritis and a torn meniscus. I was experiencing significant pain in both knees. She helped me strengthen the VMO muscles in my quad. with Pilates exercises in her studio and gave me detailed exercises to do at home. She also educated me on the anatomy of the knee, core, and other areas impacting the knee joint and its movement. I have been highly impressed with Cynthia’s understanding of the mechanics of the human body. I have a complicated medical history with chronic illness and she repeatedly chooses exercises that strengthen but don’t max out my abilities. I am extremely pleased with the progress I have made since I started seeing her and am very appreciative to be under her care. Thanks to Cynthia, my knees are virtually painfree and feel much stronger than before my injury. I would recommend Cynthia to anyone seeking a Physical Therapist with a high level of knowledge and expertise in any kind of joint or muscle repair. “
Lynda E. improved her posture and gait & now has more strength in her back!
“I have been seeing Cynthia off and on for treatment of osteoporosis for five years. During that time she has helped me to significantly improve my posture and my gait. She has also taught me numerous core exercises that have strengthened my back and showed me how to better perform the activities of daily living – such as the proper way to carry groceries and how to perform gardening work without hurting myself. My balance has also improved significantly. Cynthia is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. She has a total understanding of the human body – more than any other physical therapist I have worked with. I thoroughly enjoy working with her and consider myself to be very fortunate to have her as my physical therapist.”
David T. overcame wrist pain and is now back to playing tennis!
“I’ve worked twice with Cynthia. Several years ago, she helped relieve pain in my knees from even walking and taught me exercises to strengthen and better use my core and glutes to take pressure off my knees. A few weeks ago, I called on Cynthia again, this time to relieve pain in my left wrist from playing tennis and walking my large dog. For the prior two months, I tried to heal myself by stopping tennis for weeks and changing how I walked my dog, but the pain lingered. After three sessions so far, I have much less pain in my left wrist. Thanks to Cynthia’s holistic approach to PT focusing on the cause (other weak body muscles), not just the symptom (sore wrist), I feel I am getting close to returning to tennis and walking my dog without pain!”
Ernie M. highly recommends Wellness Rehab to anyone who needs treatment!
“I was having a lot of back pain after going through a couple of months of working at home during the Covid-19 period. I really didn’t know what to do because it was dramatically impacting my ability to work. When Cynthia got involved (via videoconferencing) we spent a lot of time with exercises to strengthen the lower back but more surprising to me were the many adjustments to my work space. I had no idea what was possible. Now that I have a taller chair position with a lumbar roll, appropriately positioned monitors (2 instead of 1 now too), better positioned keyboard, a headset for my phone etc. (plus a lot of tips like taking interval breaks) I am able to work all day without pain. And again this was done through video conferencing – definitely recommend Cynthia for those struggling to be fully productive at home.”
